Moving on to the next disaster of a deportation martyr?
For weeks now, we have watched as the press has tried insisting that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is their cherished figure to hold up in their fight against President Trump. The problem has been that though they attempted to burnish him as a sainted “Maryland Man,” evidence has poured forth regularly supporting the fact that he is an illegal immigrant and a gang member. Funny enough, we have never been served anything close to evidence of him being a doting father, with the only family-related details coming out being a pair of protective orders by his wife concerning his domestic abuse.
So now, the press may have subtly moved on to their next cherished figure in their fight against the Trump deportations. Mohsen Mahdawi is a Columbia University activist who had been detained by ICE, but a judge recently ordered him to be released on bond, and the media have clamored to praise this development and hail him as their next shimmering example of oppression – and they may be setting themselves up for another failure.
As they push images and video of him claiming to want peace and tranquility in the Middle East, already some disturbing details are coming out. There was a report made to the FBI of a gun shop owner reporting how he bragged about “killing Jews,” and he has been here for over a decade on a student visa with little to show in the manner of earning degrees. Then there is this montage of his protest efforts, where “peace” seems a rather distant goal.

Demo-lition Project – CNN
Something about a pig and lipstick is coming to mind.
As we have detailed already this week, CNN has been seeing some positively dismal ratings, and they are not getting any better. It is for this reason that we were a bit taken aback when we saw a post from Abby Phillip bragging about how great her numbers have been. Then the specifics were seen, and her desperation was on display.
She was cherry-picking a particular category in the metrics, and then declaring how those numbers were among the best…when compared to the others at her foundering network. Meanwhile, she is sporting probably the worst overall ratings on CNN in primetime and getting blistered by “Gutfeld!,” her competition at 10 pm.

Race to the Bottom – CNN
How can anyone resist this entertainment?!
And right on cue, we get this shining example of why people may be tuning out from the Phillip hour of programming. During one of Abby’s panel discussions, we have none other than Ana Navarro exploding in a crosstalk argument that we can only assume is concerning racism, but due to the shrieking and overlapping arguments, we are damned if we can say who is being offended and who is being offensive.

Anti-Social Media – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Are we not doing “attacks on the media” hysterical reports any longer?
Let’s consider that any time President Trump lashes out at a journalist or any Republican has the temerity to suggest an outlet is slanted or biased, that becomes followed by a litany of claims that press freedom is being attacked and democracy threatened, and so on…
Now also, let us recall how often we hear of the journalistic duty to hold the powerful accountable and to challenge our leaders for the good of the innocent citizens of this country.
Okay, we say all that because Myles Morell of The Daily Caller approached Rep. Ilhan Omar with a very basic question, asked politely, and the Congress member dropped a vulgarity on him in her refusal to address him.
Today I tried to ask @Ilhan a question on behalf of The @DailyCaller News Foundation and she told me to “F**k off” twice.
— Myles Morell (@MylesMorell) May 1, 2025
That was very unprofessional of her. Our elected officials should not be acting this way. pic.twitter.com/8wPu566ZTt
And not to be mistaken, Omar doubled down on her profanity when challenged on her actions on social media.
I said what I said. You and all your miserable trolls can f*ck off. https://t.co/qxqqAhaIEc

Let us know, anyone, if you see gasping and fainting couch reactions from any news outlets over this abuse delivered upon a journalist by a hostile politician.
DNC PR Firm – THE HILL
Seems newsworthy when nothing has changed since the election.
With President Trump reaching his 100 Days plateau, there is a clear desire across the media landscape to depict his second term as a disaster already. This, despite polling being rather varied, with many showing support, at least for some of his policies.
But here arrives The Hill with a rather choice bit of interpretational data analysis that would impress Abby Phillip. The outlet selected the state of Ohio to show that Trump’s favorability is slipping. They state that 44% of Ohio voters say his presidency has been “worse than expected.” Meanwhile, those saying his term so far has been in line, or “better than expected” amounted to 56%, which seems rather positive.
Also going unreported by The Hill – that 44% disapproval happens to be the exact figure that voted for Kamala Harris in that state.
