Hoax & Change – ABC NEWS

  • Report half the truth in a half-assed fashion.

You get the very real sense that the press was all convinced they had a definitive case against conservatives when it was reported that Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro had his home firebombed this week. After all, an attack on a prominent Democrat was rock-solid proof of the violence on the right – as months of violence from the left have been routinely ignored or even defended. Yet the pernickety details got in the way of the reporting at ABC News, so the outlet became rather selective about what it reported.

Now, it can be accurate to say that the arsonist was targeting Shapiro politically and has even expressed disdain for former president Biden. It is also incomplete. That is because ABC News elected to downplay that this man also had contempt for Donald Trump, and on social media, avowed that he is a socialist, as well as having committed election fraud by obtaining more than a dozen ballots in one recent election. The man has been all over the map and also off his meds, according to his mother.

So basically, Shapiro was targeted for not being left-wing enough, but framing this as an attack from the right was more in line with the sentiment at the network.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN

  • Calling out the methods of the network was True News.

After weeks of barking about the violation seen from the White House barring the AP from the in-house pressers, a question is arising: Why would any outlet want to be around to be criticized live on camera?

CNN’s Kaitlan Collins has been reassigned to the White House to cover Trump, and she has been routinely disgraced by facts. In the latest, she asked the president during a sit-down with El Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele if they were going to work on returning the “mistakenly deported” Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia. Collins should have then run to hide in some bushes in the Rose Garden.

Pam Bondi, Trump, Marco Rubio, and Bukele all shot down the ignorance of this media talking point, driving home the fact that Garcia is not only an illegal immigrant but has been found to be a member of the MS-13 gang by not one but two different court cases. This has been a shameful and degrading issue in the press.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – POLITICO

  • Who is really buying this any longer?!

Continuing with the fraudulent coverage of the Garcia deportation, the press has decided to go with their preferred framing; any time Garcia’s case is mentioned, he is referred to as a “Maryland father,’’ an intentionally deceptive deflection away from the facts. At this point, it can only be called one thing – lying – because his illegal status and membership in MS-13 are easily verifiable facts.

Reporting on the Mirror – CNN

  • What a remarkable amount of synchronized support.

It was with some comedy that at CNN, it had Dana Bash go out and reiterate that – in response to comments made by the president – her network does, in fact, like this country. (If you need to state this, Dana, you've already lost the debate.)

But as the news network is pushing back against claims of bias, White House Communications Director Steven Chung released a rather damning spreadsheet. He showed a list of the various court experts they rely upon for on-air commentary – something in high demand as Democrats and liberal groups are filing continuous legal charges against the administration – and curiously, these legal beagles all seem to share an affinity for the party creating all of the court cases.

Stolen Validity – DEADSPIN

  • Resting on your constitutional right to hack is not a cagey move.

A U.S. district court judge has ruled as valid the court case brought against Tim Burke by Fox News regarding the issue of Burke obtaining access to servers at the news outlet. The information and video clips captured by Burke were obtained after he collected account names and passwords in order to breach the Fox servers. He then passed these examples to Media Matters and Vice News, which published the content.

The judge shot down Burke’s defense of this being a First Amendment issue, through which he should be protected:

The First Amendment may not apply when the defendant unlawfully obtains the information. In this case, the grand jury found probable cause that Burke played a ‘part in the illegal interception’ of the subsequently disseminated material and charged him with five counts.”

All told, Burke is facing 14 various counts regarding his actions involving Fox.

Anti-Social Media – MOTHER JONES

  • Losing hearts and minds one report at a time.

For months now, it has been a repeated reality that Democrats and members of the press continually lose out with the 80/20 ratio; that is, they repeatedly take sides on an issue supported by only 20% of the public. (This has been borne out, as Democratic Party approval is literally hovering at around 20%.)

Well, Mother Jones has gone a step further, electing to run with a report that probably trends closer to the 95/5 ratio. It came out to report, allegedly, that dog ownership is horrible for the environment. This is all based on a questionable study from Australia with many claims, including how dogs are threatening penguin populations.

Appealing to the geriatric cat lady crowd should be a winning formula.
