Anti-Social Media – META / FACEBOOK

  • Looks like Zuckerberg needs to have a new judgment applied.

This new year began with some hysterics seen from the press circles when it was announced by Mark Zuckerberg that he would be doing away with fact-checkers on his social media platform. This was considered dire news, with Brian Stelter lamenting how this could lead to conservatives having their opinions being heard.

Some of us took a more measured approach to the announcement, along the lines of “This sounds like good news, but we’ll see how it plays out.” Now, we see there might have been solid cause for a reserved reaction. Paul Thacker has shown that a post he made on Facebook has been flagged as having a photo determined to be misinformation. This was based on an assessment made by Reuters, one of the fact-check sources allegedly severed from the Facebook oversight.

Glossary Over Things – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

  • The timing of this is only the start of the problems.

Just as the outlet is reeling from the House hearing held this week, and CEO Kathrine Maher shaming herself during testimony, at the same time came this stunted report on NPR. As Maher is proclaiming the outlet is not biased and has no agenda, this was an ill-timed entry.

Defying science and common sense is not the best way to legitimize receiving government funding.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC

  • This pundit, on this network, is probably the last to talk about treating people as being stupid.

On “Morning Joe,” they continue to hammer away at the Signal scandal and try to insist that it is about the worst thing seen in politics, ever. They brought on Jen Psaki to deliver her style of wisdom, and it fit right in on the program.

While leaning heavily on the obvious nature of the classified details becoming exposed, she mentioned that any denials of this was treating people as if they are stupid. This would be the same woman who led the charge that Joe Biden was the sharpest politician who people could not keep up with in the White House.

What Psaki and any others making this insistence want to admit is that if these were, in fact, classified details being shared, then Jeffrey Goldberg is set to be arrested for accessing classified intel and then sharing it publicly.

Legalized Press-titution – THE BULWARK

  • Definitely a topic Miller is not an expert on, to be honest.

Elon Musk and members of his DOGE team sat for an interview with Brett Baier, and Tim Miller clearly was not ready to contest or refute anything they discussed. This is shown by his comment that had no bearing on the content.

For starters, Elon Musk is currently being criticized for fathering a number of children. That this was the approach by an avowed gay pundit, who supports the party that cannot adequately state what defines a woman, makes this a completely irrelevant commentary.

Both Kinds of Standards – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • How is this a violation that travels in just one direction?

Get ready to be shocked: David French disapproves of what the Trump administration is doing!

Davie responded to a comment by Stephen Miller concerning the judges who seem to think they have more sway on the Executive Branch of our government than the Chief Executive himself. It was both one of brevity and convenient ignorance.

French is trying to sell the concept that it violates the Constitution to remove illegals in this country, but somehow was not a similar violation in allowing them to roam free after violating our border laws. He also elides the actual threat will be seen in activist judges overstepping their position to issue restraining orders on the President of the United States.
