News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Maybe the journalists were too busy covering the divisive Trump administration.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett has been ardently striving to be relevant with her practice of delivering quotes tailor-made for viral attention. In her latest, she chose to insult Texas Governor Greg Abbott by mocking the fact that he is wheelchair-bound.
Jasmine Crockett: "We out in these hot a** streets with the 'hot wheels governor' who a hot a** mess!"

How did this woman get elected? pic.twitter.com/lToMMr7D0h
Making her appearance all the more objectionable is her attacking a physically capable individual before a crowd at the Human Rights Campaign and the audience whooping it up after her comments. She then takes obliviousness to a new level when she had an encounter on the Hill and started to speak out about divisiveness…when she is affected personally.
This morning an individual attempted to my invade personal safety for a soundbite. Thank you to my Colleague @RepTimBurchett for putting himself between me and the individual to ensure I made it to Committee. In a time of division, he put respect and safety first and I appreciate…

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN
You just latched onto the talking point but never thought to explore it, huh?
On a panel discussion about cracking down on illegal immigrants, Stephen Collinson posited that this could lead to an adverse effect on the economy. He suggests that the threat of tracking illegals could lead to them refusing to pay taxes as a form of avoiding detection.

How they will not be in trouble for avoiding taxes, how they get work while not a legal resident, and how they are not punished for their illegal entry ("largely obey the law" is an amusing stretch) are all concepts that never enter the theorizing.
"Undocumented migrants who largely obey the law are going to stop filing tax returns… it's going to cost billions of dollars in revenue."

Both Kinds of Standards – CBS EVENING NEWS
Where was this kind of pointed thinking for the past four years?
As part of the new nightly arrangement on the network newscast, co-host John Dickerson closes out episodes with his personal editorials.
This time around, he invokes Patrick Henry in his pompous historical lecture that is supposed to serve as a warning about the presidential office having…monarchical powers, we think. The cute part is that as he intones about the perceived stretches of President Trump’s authority, John — and most others in the press — were completely unconcerned with the various acts of a worse nature seen from Joe Biden as he flouted the Supreme Court, abused the pardon process, and tried to install a constitutional amendment through executive order.

Reporting on the Mirror – CNN
Looking like there was no show for Abilio, just an outpost timeslot.
Since Jim Acosta departed the fertile airwaves of CNN when he was about to be moved to broadcast Siberia in the midnight-2 AM slot, something interesting/revealing has been realized.
Since Jimmy declined the offer and quit the network, CNN has yet to begin any type of show in the time period, opting to play reruns of Anderson Cooper’s “AC 360.”

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – THE BULWARK
Slow news day, eh, Sam?
We get it, there are times when it is tough to come up with content. But seriously, with most of the press barking about how the Trump administration is flooding the zone with actions and it causing stress in the media circles, Sam Stein resorting to sartorial critiques of Kash Patel seems to be trending as close to desperation as it gets.
