Pre-Written Field Reports – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • Well, if it involves Musk, then it must be wrong.

The New York Times is taking a decidedly negative approach to anything involving Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It's to the point now that if it's reporting on them, you can be guaranteed it's a negative article, despite the accuracy or the facts contained. This is the same site that was criticizing him for not having found any wasteful spending only to then in the same article declare that he's found over $250 billion in wasteful spending.

For the latest hit piece on Elon, The Times has decided to look deeply into the fact that the general public – that is people on social media – appear to have an unacceptable level of contact with Elon. As Musk and his DOGE team continue to look into government waste, one of the biggest complaints that The New York Times can find is that major accounts online and even the general public are able to get suggestions into the hands of Elon Musk. What seems to be the problem, according to The New York Times, is that the general public is able to express itself to people in our government – in other words, the citizens actually have a pipeline to somebody in Washington, D.C., who is doing the work of the American citizens.

And, of course, that work needs to be called into question because of who is doing it. We are told Musk “targets spending considered unaligned with President Trump’s agenda” – so he is not finding wasteful spending and saving taxpayer dollars. Nope.

Anti-Social Media – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • These are the same people who say it is wrong for them to access private information…

In another dose of imbalanced thinking at The Times, the newspaper has taken its opposition to DOGE to a new level. One of the biggest complaints from the press about this department is that it has access to the personal information of American citizens. (That would be, the unelected workers in a government agency accessing information that is being held by unelected government workers in a different agency.)

In what can only be termed an example of journalistic retribution, the newspaper has decided to publish the names and the pictures of the workers inside Elon Musk's agency. It is rather obvious the threat that this is going to pose to those workers, and this is by design from The New York Times. There is obvious hostility in this article displayed right from the start, where it refers to the agency as the “so-called Department Of Government Efficiency.”

And it goes without saying that the most obvious difference in all of this is, even if the workers in the agency have access to that information, they are not making public the personal details of individuals, unlike what The New York Times is doing here with the DOGE workers.

Reporting on the Mirror – WASHINGTON POST

  • Is it supposed to not make sense when you quit over this detail?

We covered yesterday how Jeff Bezos sent a tremor through the news industry when he declared the WaPo Opinion section was going to highlight personal liberties and the free market. Well, the hysterics continue.

Since then, we have learned that a number of editors and writers – some prominent – have quit the paper as a result.

Let’s recap: This means journalists saw a need to quit their jobs because they could not be free to write pieces that opposed basic human rights – all while citing their rights were being restricted by their publisher, who wants to promote liberty.

First Amendment Strike Force – THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

  • What was the purpose of this selective release of the documents?

It was widely anticipated that today Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice were going to begin the release of "The Epstein Files." This apparently is being done in a staged process where today was going to be the release of Phase One. The problem with this, however, is that it was not a public release of the records; instead what we found out was that Bondi and the DOJ decided to make these files available only to a select group of conservative influencers.

The reason behind this decision was not immediately clear, but one of the problems that this could present is that whatever information might be contained in the files could be disregarded by others because it could be interpreted as coming from biased individuals, and not being made to all news outlets in the general public at the same time.

The DOJ did later make the files available on a publicly accessed web page.

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • Are we not doing “misinformation” anymore?!

We always enjoy the cringe feeling delivered when news outlets lecture us on the perils and dangers of misinformation. This is because there are two disqualifiers when it comes to this topic, the first being how frequently these same outlets deliver that very fraudulent content.

The second is currently on display right now – when these same scolds fall silent in the face of a blatant example of misinformation because it either impugns one of their own or, as in this instance, the fake information helps their narratives.

Some prominent Democrat accounts were sharing an audio clip of Donald Trump Jr. saying that we should refrain from supporting Ukraine and need to start backing Russia. The sources have been deleting the posts, but the outcry over this pernicious attempt is not to be heard. Fact Post News, which is operated by the former Kamala HQ people, was behind this smear attempt – which explains the media silence.

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – ASSOCIATED PRESS

  • Good to see where the priorities rest.

For reasons known only to the editorial teams at the syndicate, the Associated Press saw fit to give us this report on a rather arcane topic. Now, there is no proof yet that this has anything to do with USAID payments, yet more than a few people suggest or assume this is, in fact, the case.

That said, we are at a loss as to the significance of learning that transgendered individuals in Pakistan are feeling a sense of dignity after attending cooking classes.
