Pre-Written Field Reports – MSNBC

  • At some point, Kristen should come around to realize Republicans actually have knowledge about issues.

Since she has taken over the reins of “Meet the Press,” Kristen Welker has managed to take the show more to the left than when the blatant Democrat-sympathizer Chuck Todd stepped down from the desk. She has also taken the show lower, as she has proven herself a commonly unprepared interviewer. Whenever Republicans come on the show, she peppers them with numerous talking-point-based questions, and when those become unwoven by a conservative answering definitively, she frequently is thrown off balance.

This all came to light during her lengthy interview with Donald Trump. The pair sat for over an hour, as Welker repeatedly challenged the president-elect on a number of issues. Welker looked inept when she was dredging up inconsequential items about the 2020 election results and January 6, and Trump was not only unapologetic about her pet causes, but he trampled them by being direct and using common sense.

The best example is when Welker tried to lay blame in Trump’s lap about the nation being divided. All he had to do to get Welker stumbling was remind her of the simple fact: “I’m not the president – Joe Biden’s the president.” Welker tried to stay on narrative, “But you’re going to be president,” as if that somehow excuses Biden from the responsibility that this nation is divided, which they both agreed is currently the case.

Body Checking the Fact-Checkers – CBS NEWS

  • Just because what he says is accurate does not make him correct!

You have to wonder sometimes how it is that these journalists and fact-checkers derive their conclusions from hardcore data and then fail to prove how their own judgments are truthful. At CBS News, they attempted to correct Trump’s Border Czar appointee Tom Homan on how much fentanyl has affected this country by the number of deaths the drug has caused.

This stems from Trump's approach of imposing tariffs on Mexico to stem the flow of fentanyl into the country, but in straining to display how they were wrong on the matter CBS laid out the evidence proving him correct:

  • Incoming "border czar" Tom Homan alleged in a Fox News interview this week that Mexican cartels have "killed a quarter of a million Americans with fentanyl.”

  • According to data from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, over 334,000 have died from drug overdoses involving synthetic opioids, such as Fentanyl, over a nearly ten year period since 2013.

Stealth Story Evolution – THE BULWARK

  • So now that it is showing to be a failure, it becomes, “Well screw those Hispanics!”

This is such a jarring shift that we have to wonder if this is posted as some sort of gag. However, considering that fractured Bulwark columnist JV Last posted this on Bluesky – where humor is a non-existent entity among the leftist brethren – we have our doubts.

Last, you might recall, was the wizard at that site who immediately after the election declared authoritarianism to be awful and that Joe Biden should resort to it in order to defeat Trump. Now, Mr. Last is back, and he has this bold assessment on what the Democrats should do in the wake of an election loss, aided significantly by Hispanics supporting Trump.

Thus, it is now declared that Democrats should just go ahead and agree with deporting illegals since they have been shown to not be reliable in voting for Democrats.

You can choose which is the more stunted position: Admitting that opening the border was done to juice the Democrats’ numbers, or that they feel illegal aliens have the ability to vote. Either the case, it also ignores that those Hispanics who did vote for Trump are actually citizens and cannot be deported, and they then voted in favor of illegals being shipped out.

Body Checking the Fact-Checkers – POLITIFACT

  • Now, where does this money originate again…?

Even though Joe Biden is in his lame-duck weeks as president, that does not stall PolitiFact from performing knee-jerk defenses on his behalf. After all, there is a legacy to protect, as well as Trump-Republican-conservative policies to combat as he rises to power.

For their latest, the viscounts of vérité at the site addressed the complaints heard from conservatives that Joe Biden is cutting checks to the tune of $1 billion for African relief efforts, all while the Carolinas and other states grapple with the aftereffects of hurricane damage. The authorities on rectitude at PolitiFact are here to tell us that these are totally different, you ignorant conservatives.

Presentation Paradox – ABC NEWS

  • Martha shows a deep concern for things, she’s just not too concerned with accuracy.

In speaking with Byron Donalds on Sunday, Martha Raddatz went with the already tired trope regarding the deportation of illegals, which would be that it is going to cost too much. Once again, there was never this concern when Democrat presidents were shipping out illegals, but Trump’s proposal will cost too much, according to the hand-wringing harpy at ABC News. For her to take this approach, Martha needs to ignore a list of realities:

  • These are people in the country illegally.

  • This is a costly problem created by the man she supported, Joe Biden.

  • The cost of these people remaining in the country is vastly more expensive.

  • Democrat-run cities like New York, Chicago, and Denver are going broke from the various goods and services being paid out to immigrants, over their citizens.

But just like her claim there were barely any Venezuelan gangs taking over apartments, today there are only billions of dollars spent on illegals.

Reporting on the Mirror – LOS ANGELES TIMES

  • Journalists who love labels find one they despise.

There is more discord and upheaval taking place now at the Los Angeles Times. The publisher, Patrick Soon-Shiong, has announced that in a month or so he will be installing an AI-generated “bias meter” to indicate if any news items in the paper are carrying a partisan slant.

This has caused a new wave of distemper among staffers, some of whom are declaring that they are an unbiased lot and there is no need for such a determined effort.

Of course, if that is the case, they would not be so bothered by a system indicating their work is unbiased.
