Gilded Reframe – NBC NEWS

  • In reading between the lines, Chuckles wrote in boldface italics in this rant.

At first blush, it appears like a refreshing dose of objectivity from Chuck Todd. He reacts to the Joe Biden pardon of his recidivist son Hunter in a stern and outraged rant that seems like a dawning has taken place. But in reality, something else is in play here.

Chuckles is mad that Biden has left him, and the press industry, exposed once again, so he is lashing out. Considering that Mr. Todd has been a consistently ardent backer of Biden, including his admission not long ago that he had known for years of Biden’s sliding mental condition, this outburst is less an indictment of Biden violating propriety than it is his being dismayed that Biden exposes the press in his move.

Listening to this it basically can be translated into, ”How could you do this to us?!”

Presentation Paradox – THE BULWARK

  • “Well, we would NEVER!” say the folks who actually did.

In a dose of pure comedy, Charles C. W. Cooke exposed like a turtle flipped onto its shell the stunted minds at our favorite Never Trump outlet, The Bulwark. Following Joe Biden’s pardoning of his kid, Cooke said he was awaiting the inevitable defense of that move by the devoted “conservatives” who have tongue-bathed Biden for years.

Right away, he received pushback from Bulwark operatives, such as Tim Miller and publisher Sarah Longwell, snarking how Cooke had been incorrect in his prediction. The only problem? Their site had this article on its front page.

First Amendment Strike Force – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • Well, last week’s censorship effort did not go well, but don’t give up guys!

We covered a week ago how The Times was going after a number of conservative content creators on YouTube, using Media Matters “research” and contacting the video platform authorities to lobby about having the accounts taken down. YouTube looked at the couple of hundred examples and basically said, "Are you kidding with this?" as they reported there was nothing objectionable to act upon.

Now, undeterred, the outlet is showing it is now targeting the video competitor Rumble, contacting account holders and challenging them on the content they produce in what appears to be another hit piece arriving.

Demo-lition Project – LOS ANGELES TIMES

  • In one move you already improved the quality of the paper!

It has been a tumultuous election season at the Los Angeles Times. First, there was the paper would not endorse a candidate, and it led to many executives and staffers quitting. Then owner-publisher Patrick Soon-Shiong fired the entire editorial board, in order to revamp the paper and give it a more balanced approach to the news content it produces. Now, he has made good on that effort by appointing to the board noted CNN conservative voice Scott Jennings.

Reporting on the Mirror – FORBES

  • Well…at least it is not announced layoffs, this time…

The noted financial magazine has been on rocky shores for some time, placed up for the option of being sold a couple of times over the last two years. Also during that period, there have been ongoing contract negotiations, as the Forbes newsroom agreed to unionize back in 2021, and yet all this time they have never been able to settle on an initial contract.

As a result, the editorial board and much of the staff walked off work today as the outlet was releasing its annual 30 Under 30 List.
