Some of the most basic assumptions about life can no longer be taken for granted.
The Three Stooges were one of the few groups that actively criticized the Nazis during their twelve-year rule. Their blatantly anti-Hitler short movies caused headaches for Columbia Pictures as Josef Goebbels threatened not to distribute their movies in the Third Reich. The Three Stooges were unsparing in their ridicule of the Nazis and Japanese, which worked perfectly with Moe having a resemblance to the Führer himself and Curly making a natural fat Field Marshal Goering. In one short, Moe orders a Nazi ship crew to shoot themselves in the head. The captain replies, “We are Germans. We have no brains.”
Apparently, the spirit of the Three Stooges lives on. I was scanning The Telegraph and much to my shock, I saw a headline that read, “Rights of asylum seekers trump the people of Epping, Home Office argues.” The article goes into the plight of Epping, where illegal aliens have been put up in hotels against the will of the locals, who have vociferously expressed their disapproval. The Home Office is trying to pull a “we know better” fast one by claiming that the local Epping council is made up of town folk rubes. In contrast, the Home Office in Whitehall, London, really knows what’s best for the country as a whole: “The [Home Secretary] is taken for these purposes as representing the public interest of the entirety of the United Kingdom and discharging obligations conferred on her alone by Parliament.” You knuckleheads may know what’s best for you, but we here 24 miles away in the rarified air of the capital know what’s really best for you and the rest of the UK. Americans often do not know how incredible—if quite imperfect—the US is. But here is Exhibit A: you want to be free of illegal immigrants who have, at times, been involved in crimes against the locals. We want these people in our country, and you’re just going to shut up and live with it. That is the answer of the present Labour government. The previous Tory governments would have most likely made the same argument. They don’t care about the rights of the citizens of Epping or anywhere else. Their orders come from the WEF, not UK voters.

What’s happening in Epping is true throughout the Western world. We all saw the tractor and “yellow vest” protests: European countries are enacting programs to significantly reduce farmland and farming practices. They would love to get rid of nitrogen-based fertilizers, as it is claimed that their byproducts are a threat to mankind. Sri Lanka did this, had a serious famine, and a coup that changed the government. Across the street from us is a low-slung building that for most of its 80 years served as a kindergarten. The city now wants to make it into a ten-story building. The only reason why the project is not moving forward is that different factions in city hall want their constituents to be the beneficiaries of the new apartments. When there was a hearing at the local zoning board, I could see that they were hellbent on building this ugly monstrosity. I only requested more parking to alleviate the current pressure and accommodate new residents. I was refused. “The building is meant for students and they don’t have cars” was the Epping-level lie given back to me (of course, they have cars). That we sometimes, at 11 pm, drive in circles trying in vain to find parking means nothing to these people. Not only did they refuse to add parking, but they also said that they would remove existing parking to make the building larger.
Why are our politicians so disconnected from the populace? For them, the voters are a once in a very few years nuisance. Handshakes, smiles, promises, and then victory. And then the voters are conveniently forgotten. Larger forces like Soros dictating to his platoon of DAs in American cities replace the We the People background chorus. The voters are a mere afterthought after the votes have been counted. How many times have you seen your representatives in Congress vote or act in a manner that is opposite to both their expressed program and the will of the majority of the party that put them into office? Why isn’t the “Republican Senate” getting Donald Trump’s confirmations taken care of? Because many of the 53 Republicans in the upper house don’t like the president and certainly don’t care about you, me, or tens of millions of other Trump voters. “We’re in! Who are you?”
Just as politicians so easily disavow the express will of the people who gave them power, our societies have lost connection to what was an accepted reality not long ago. When I was growing up, a boy competing against the girls would have been considered the biggest loser at school. While there have always been more effeminate boys and tomboy girls, no governmental body would have accepted or encouraged harming them physically to pretend to change their gender. As we saw from the recent shooting, “trans” is a form of mental illness. When most people believed in God or accepted basic religious premises, a person would not conclude that he was in the “wrong body”. God made me this way, and it’s my job to make the most of who I am and what I can do. But like the folks in the Home Office in England, our job is not to do the right thing but rather to cater to the demented spirit of the time. Guys can walk off with women’s hardware and be celebrated. School officials and doctors can begin irreversible processes to sterilize and physically damage children because of nonsensical concepts of “gender”. Religious concepts are used to set the outer limits of societies, even democracies. It was obvious that your citizens come first. It was a no-brainer that there were boys and girls, period. When the foundations of society are removed, how long can the undulating structure stand before it collapses on itself?
The actions of the Home Office reflect a strong European view that individual states need to be subsumed into much larger international bodies. Brexit mostly fizzled out as politicians of all stripes in England simply feel more comfortable having the EU tell them what to do than doing what is best for their fellow citizens. We live in a strange age. In the past, countries looked out for their interests. When those interests butted heads, the issues were resolved either through treaty or war. China, Russia, and India still act in this manner: they invest in energy infrastructure to improve their citizens’ lives. In Europe and the US, under Biden, efforts were made to reduce energy reliability and availability. The drive for “net zero” and decarbonization is leading to poverty, higher energy costs, and less reliable electricity. And whatever carbon dioxide is not produced will be more than offset by additional Chinese and Indian power plants. It is an exercise in preening, not in taking care of one’s citizens.
The US under Biden obviously behaved like the UK. Veterans could sleep on the street while illegal aliens were put up in hotel rooms and given monthly stipends. You could be denied a flight because your COVID test was 25 hours old, while thousands crossed the southern US border without any known COVID status at the same time. The US favored the foreigners but never disclosed this to the court.
In light of the above, it is no surprise that the British Home Office is more worried about fake asylum seekers than its own citizens. Their thoughts are with the internationalists and not with those whom they swore to represent.
