Some people make the grave mistake of believing their own press.

It was a funny sight to see Tucker Carlson at his Maine Berghof with the brain trust for his new political party. Here was Tucker, who was unceremoniously dumped by Fox News. Marjorie Taylor Greene was there after President Trump refused to support her bid to run for governor of Georgia. She left Congress but conveniently timed her departure so as to guarantee her governmental pension. Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4) was all smiles after he was crushed in his primary and ended his stay in Congress. Joe Kent was also there after being fired from his counterterror gig and while possibly being the subject of a criminal investigation over leaking. It was an all-star team of losers and their spouses. When everyone is equally a loser, then they all seem like stars. And then Tucker announced an interview with none other than his former neighbor and friend, Hunter Biden. Hunter Biden, of course, is the owner of the laptop that showed how he bagged money for his “Big Man” father and also displayed for the world his tawdry drug and personal life activities. If Tucker is looking for people glued to the floor, he might run out soon.

The purpose of the Maine meeting was to announce the formation of an alternative to the MAGA wing of the Republican Party. No, they are not going in the direction of the Paul Ryan wing that served the Chamber of Commerce and not the common citizen. Everyone with a pulse knows the history of splinter parties in American electoral politics. While Israel has around 38 political parties, the US has for generations settled into a two-party system, with the rare victory of someone with neither a D nor R after his or her name. Like the Nazis, the folks in the picture claimed that MAGA had been stabbed in the back by neocons — you know, Jews. So it was their moral imperative to set up a new option based on supposed righty morals and definite lefty economics in order to save the country and the supposedly fake real MAGA. Their ideological beacon would appear to be Russia’s Alexander Dugin, and their political hero Vladimir Putin. The problem with our Avengers is that they mistake listeners for popularity. It’s like you declaring that you are hungry and thus everyone in the family must also be so, when in reality, only you have any appetite to eat right now.

It is worth noting that Massie ran for reelection with the support of Tucker Carlson. The Congressman positioned himself as being opposed to Donald Trump on Iran and other issues. He was going to expose the Epstein names! He was going to hold Washington responsible! And then he was trounced. Ed Gallrein defeated Massie by 10 percentage points, but Massie had to get his Jew hate out one more time, claiming that he could not quickly reach Gallrein, because the latter was in Tel Aviv. When you hate Jews, they are everywhere and responsible for everything. Just ask the Irish prime minister, who had an Israeli (Elbit) system taken out of his new private Jet, which now can no longer land in the fog. All of the folks in the log cabin are big fans of and much beloved by Megyn and Candace. What a small world! May it never get bigger.

The massive Massie loss and Greene's retirement should have been warning signs that Donald Trump is still MAGA and MAGA is still Donald Trump. While one of Trump’s supported candidates recently lost a primary, the president has well over 100 primary victories by candidates that he supported for Congress, Senate, and open governorships. Polls suggest that 90 percent of Republicans are behind the president and his policies. Yes, things are expensive — that process started with Joe Biden and uncontrolled COVID-19 spending. Prices will not come down much; for them to get back where they were would require a depression. The hope is that prices will continue to remain static or go up more slowly, while workers’ salaries will outstrip inflation and make things affordable again.

If you have a bunch of losers sitting around a table, why would they think that their new party would be the solution the masses have been waiting for? Because of numbers. Whether they have millions of followers on X or millions of views on YouTube, they have concluded that they and their ideas are super popular. The problem is that many of those behind their numbers may well be bots, Democrats, or foreigners. Most Republicans believe that something had to be done with Iran. And even if they don’t agree with the president’s start/stop approach, they know that dealing with Iran was a necessity if one did not want to have a nuclear bomb dropped on the US (and not just Israel as they pretend). Normal Republican voters don’t like the Muslim takeover of Europe and don’t want something similar in the US. Unlike Tucker, they believe that Islamic terror is a real threat to Americans and not some Israeli op to distract from whatever. Many people can list terror attacks on US soil since 9/11 where the attackers were Muslims. Pulse Nightclub, Boston Marathon, Fort Hood, and San Bernardino, where 14 people were killed in 2015, come to mind. The ideas and “policies” of Tucker and his clown car are more in line with the Muslim Brotherhood or Mamdani’s DSA socialists than with patriotic Americans. But their microphones only send signals out and do not receive signals back. So they believe that they are onto something. And for however much antisemitism has grown in the US, most Americans do not hate Jews or Israel. And how much more so for MAGA patriots.

We know from previous elections that some fellow like Ross Perot or Curtis Sliwa can siphon off enough votes to weaken a preferred candidate. Will a Massie for President campaign help put a Democrat in the Oval Office? Too early to tell. But these people are not popular; they are united by negatives — hatred of Jews, Donald Trump and the same Americans despised by the socialists and Muslims. All of them were considered card-carrying Republicans at some point in the recent past, and all of them either quit or were thrown out because they didn’t get what they want. All of them seem joined by the “blame Israel for everything” trope. The supposed counterterror honcho Kent now claims that Iran is OK and that Shia Muslims never ever strap bombs on their bodies to blow up. Several hundred dead American soldiers in Lebanon and Iraq might take exception to his claim. Iran has recently been directly implicated in an attempted assassination of the president of the United States, and its proxies have attacked American forces in Syria and Iraq. It’s amazing when a person is so filled with hate that he applies a distortion field to reality. All of the losers in the picture from Maine hate Israel, and thus they have to completely rejigger reality so that Israel/Bibi Netanyahu/da Joos are to blame for something. JD Vance refuses to distance himself from Tucker, who has openly attacked Donald Trump — JD’s boss — as irrelevant or controlled by Israel. In the end, we’ll learn that Barack Obama was smarter, as he at least jettisoned Reverend Wright when he became a political drag.

Other than satisfying their massive egos, I don’t think that the new American Party will accomplish anything. Americans are grounded in reality and realize that if one has to choose MAGA over these nuts or a DSA radical or Kamala Harris, MAGA wins every time. These folks who were forced into early retirements are bored, but we aren’t buying what they are selling.
